How to delete your Wenu account and your data

Who publishes the app
Wenu is an app by Arè Labs (Mauro Giuseppe Mazzola and Alberto Cassano).
From the app
- Open the app and go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm twice.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can delete your account even if you have not accepted a new version of the Terms.
Without the app
Write to arelabs.bt@gmail.com from your account’s email address, with the subject “Account deletion”. We check that the request comes from you, delete the account within one month (usually much sooner) and confirm to you that it has been deleted.
What we delete
- the account (email, encrypted password, Google or Facebook profile data);
- sign-in sessions, device identifiers and preferences;
- the record of accepted Terms and of the consent to document reading, and the count of readings;
- your roles in other people’s plans;
- the invitations you sent and those you received;
- the plans you own that have no other members, with all their content;
- on the phone from which you delete the account, the reminders you set there.
The Alexa link stops working at once.
What remains, and for how long
- Shared plans: if you own a plan with other members, the plan passes to the member who accepted the invitation longest ago (with priority to editors). The content you entered in it remains with the other members.
- Backup copies: your data disappears from backups within 7 days.
- Server logs: within 14 days.
Deleting only some data
Without deleting your account, from the app you can:
- archive a plan (it can be restored for 7 days, then it is deleted);
- remove diners, dishes, ingredients and shopping list items;
- unlink Alexa (Profile → Unlink Alexa).
If you are part of another person’s plan and no longer want to be, you can leave it yourself: open the plan, go to the Table tab and tap “Leave plan”, at the bottom. The content you entered stays in the plan. The owner can also remove you from the members.
